| Advertising There are clearly a multitude of publications in which to advertise. Creating a website reduces the space or lineage needed, all you are looking to do is direct readers to the site rather than to provide a costly full description of the Barbados property. ‘Overseas Property for Rent’ or ‘Holiday Rentals’ are established advertising sections in many national newspapers, both tabloid and broadsheet. The most widely referenced in terms of Barbados is the Sunday Times. Lineage ads here are around ?100 a week. If you do advertise in the nationals, you may want to produce some sort of brochure for the odd enquiry that does not have internet access. Outside of this, everything works to some degree or another. We know owners who secure rentals from advertising cards in the local post office window, others who have had success with regional press and lifestyle magazines.
