However Legislative power is vested in the two chambers of the National Congress.
TheDominican Republic is a tropical maritime island nation. The wet season is between May and November with occassional hurricanes between June and November. Rainfall is predominantly in the north and east of the island. Annual temperatures near the coast average 25 - 30°C.
